The Gold Room

Today I trained in the Gold Room at Powell's. That's the room with all of the science fiction, horror, manga, mysteries and erotica, and surprisingly, nautical fiction, for those of you who didn't know. You'll see all kinds of totally bizarre books in the Gold Room -- a coworker uncovered these frightening fairy guitar stories..."The Gossamer Axe" (which has a description that says, ' There's a new world that's been brought to the Sidh, and it's called Rock and Roll') and then the terrifying "Foundling" which asks you to "imagine if Rosemary's baby had a baby". No thank you.
Also I saw this startling photo of Sean Connery...evidently he made a horrifically bad science fiction movie in 1974 called "Zardoz". Here is an actual quote from his character, Zardoz:

"The penis is evil. The penis shoots seeds, and makes new life, and poisons the earth with a plague of men, as once it was. But the gun shoots death, and purifies the earth of the filth of brutals. Go forth and kill!"

Go here for more inexplicably strange lines from the script.

One of my coworkers has added a word balloon that says, "Is anybody else chilly?"

I've actually seen Zardoz, and I will tell you that it's not very good, but it's pretty amazing. How does a person slip that script in? Who paid for it? Why did Connery agree? So many questions. How did they build the giant head space ship?
