With Liberty, Justice and Rock for All

Augen Gallery is hosting a beautiful, powerful group of photographs of rock and roll royalty from the 1970's you shouldn't miss. "Bande a Part: New York Underground - 60's 70's 80's" is a collection of photographs of such art and music luminaries as Andy Warhol, Iggy Pop, the Ramones and Debbie Harry. There are a few beat writers thrown in for good measure, Jean Michel Basquiat's sad face haunts from a frame or two, and the only color photo appropriately enough is of the New York Dolls.
My favorite photo is of the Ramones in front of the Supreme Court, it's a juxtaposition of the rules and the rule breakers that is totally charming. The show is up through the 28th of August. Augen Gallery is located at 716 NW Davis. Hey, Ho! Let's Go!

I love it that I can see your reflection in the glass.
