Miocene Madness

Today we forced the Child out into the fresh air for a walk along the river. Glorious sunshine and a spectacular view of downtown made us feel like vital human beings, almost robust after a long, pale and wan winter. Along the way we stopped into OMSI, or the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and took in the dinosaur exhibit. My favorite part was the skeletons of Sabercats and Miomastadons. A few of the skeletons were found in the La Brea Tar Pits, near my home town of Santa Monica. A very incongruous site amidst all the star-studded hollywood glamour, but you can't decide where a prehistoric tar pit's going to pop up, so there it is. We embarrassed the Child no-end when we begged her to take our picture as dinosaurs. On our walk I spied this colorful scuba diver looking for interesting artifacts on a plywood window covering. Nice!

Ohh but isn't half the fun of being a parent is embarrasing your child?? I figure it's payback from the times I was mortified as a child! ;) Glad you guys had fun....it was a beautiful day!

At first glance, it looked like your dino was giving birth to baby-dino-Greg.
