The Art of Infrastructure

An after-dinner family walk shows us the beauty and unexpected landscapes of northwest Portland. From shady Lovejoy street and its merry Portland streetcar to the golden St. Patrick's church tucked under the ramps and bridges of highway 405. Northwest Portland is spreading into formerly industrial areas, bringing tiny brewpubs and cozy coffee houses to the old train yards. Our walk was gilded by the evening sun, and through the breezy trees we walked under the freeway and alongside the rather majestic church. Beautiful Portland!
